It is about that time to replace my aging Turtle Beach HPA2. It has been beaten to hell and back and is just tired. So I am looking for a new headset. After the greay advice ages ago on the clip ons I purchased(my account has seemingly been deleted since then) I turn to you for help.
I have criteria and if it is all not met then it is no go.
Firstly it absolutely has to have a built in mic.(EDIT: though I suppose I could mod a mic on and use shrink tube to bind the cables together to avoid the mess)
Secondly it is has to connect via a single 3.5mm 4 pole connector or two 3.5mm 3 pole connectors.
Thirdly it has to be loosely in the ballpark of 100$. I could probably swing 150$ but that is it.
Fourthly I would prefer circumaural.
I am currently looking at the Turtle Beach Z2 at 69.95 the price is right and fits all my criteria. But you all being the experts may know of a headset that uses better drivers at a reasonable price.
I leave my ears in your hands.
