X2 on the DT48. Nothing touches it for the price - find a used one. You'll also get recommendations for Stax and various kilobuck headphones, but a used DT48 delivers for $75-$150 (depending on age and condition). The only other inexpensive rival is the AKG K-501 which goes for $100-$150. Great headphones and they have the soundstage the DT48 lacks, but you don't get the same level of transparency.
