Why did you sell the other ones?

I'd recommend trying a LCD-2 from Audeze, maybe it fits better with your tastes :)

Yes lcd2 is the reason I sold my aeon... I got a wonderful lcd2 rev2

Aeon for me is better than the fazor one... But this old unfazored rev2 is wonderful... But it only sounds good on my v281 .. On the fiio A5 ... Sounds terrible...

Denon I sold it as my auteur is better in any way...

I was reading about the ether 2 and I was curious to know if some of you metal heads have tryied it... And your opinion.

Sorry, I haven't tried it, but I knew LCD-2 would be quite great to someone looking for an affordable great Metal Headphone

Also, I agree, A5 is not really the best pairing for LCD-2, it needs something more capable to reach their full power, prefferably something with tubes, like Feliks Echo :)

If you like the lcd 2, you would love the ZMF Atticus. Better mids, much better slam, same warm sound.

I read about the atticus , i got auteur , ZMF are really hard to find to listen here in italy ... may new Aeolus could be better than the atticus ... i always preferred open headphone sound ...

I personally found the Aeolus to be a better all around headphone due to the decreased slam allowing the other things to shine thru. I do think the Atticus is more "exciting/fun" sounding though.

EDIT: To be clear, the Aeolus still has plenty of slam, esp. for an open back, but just not as much as the Atticus.

Ether 2 is a little smoother and less impactful than the others. Very liquid sounding like an electrostatic. If you’re wanting to move more in the warmer LCD direction, it probably won’t be your thing. If you want ridiculous resolution and smooth, liquid sound, it will be more your speed.

That’s for you to decide. It’s less impactful than those two, but more liquid and more resolving than the HE6. Sort of like if a SR009 and HE6 had a baby and it came out halfway in the middle between the two on most everything.

seems an awful lotta headphones are having babies around here...

I'm waiting for the grandchildren, so the kids are more affordable. Grandparents will then be in that weird area, where thsyre either really cheap or extremely expensive due to age.
