saw some dude using DT990's at starbucks =\ WHY BRO WHY THOUGH .. huuuge bulky open headphones in public?? whatever.. no amp neither just right out the smrt phone jack...
If he was running them off a V30 you can give him a pass .
On my trains the overwhelming majority are Airpods, QCXX's, and Beats. The next step down in quantity are 1000X's. And surprisingly I've seen several Senn Momentum's, all of which have been girls interestingly enough.
Anyone who see's me with my Jabra 65T's on the train can rest assured I have respectable gear at home.
Here it is a sea of Bose QC35, QC25, JBL's (e65? all of the JBL's basically). all of the B&O's H6, H7, H9. Beats Solo, recently also saw several MDR-1000X(M2) and slightly more exotic V-Moda M100 or Wireless. Also some of the cheap AKG's, and all of the cheap Sonys (I don't know the models).
The Momentum on-ear is also a girl can here! The airpods are also common, look kinda dumb IMO.
In July I will take the piggy bank to this place I found:
Just saw a guy, probably in his 70's in NJ walking with HD600's on. I couldn't see exactly what he was holding, but he had some sort of decent DAP or portable Amp. It was super hot out... I can't imagine wearing those in 95 degree heat and power walking.
