I'm looking for a new headphone for a friend. I could use some advice from you experts!
His AKG K601's cable broke down so it has become useless, thus he is looking for a new HP..
 
These are his preferences:
 
- Price range: 100-200 euro
- Open cans
- Detachable cable
- For rock/metal music

Is there a HP that is currently booming in this price range? Suggestions? Very much appreciated!

It seems almost impossible to find one with the detachable cable feature..

AKG k240 mk2 comes with 2 cables and extra pads, not sure how they compare to k601s, but I rather enjoy my k240s.
 
Edit: these are rather dark cans as opposed to the brightness of 601s. I enjoy mine for metal, but they're much better suited for Pink Floyd etc..
