East Coast pair (Bamboo) should arrive Saturday to person #1
West Coast pair (Rosewood) probably around tuesday next week to person #1

The HiFiMAN HE-500 continues to be the best moving pair, currently with #5 on the list.

How much did it end up costing to ship them out?

finally got a little time to spend with the stax portables today.  none of the stock tips work for me at all, and with the odd shape of the stem, I almost gave up.  But, I decided at the last minute to grab some of my silicone tips and give them a try.  getting them on is a feat in itself, but the difference is incredible.  I have quite a collection of tips from the past, and its amazing how much variation there is.

anyway, for those of you on the stax list, roll some tips, basically until they sound incredible.  very surprised at the bass on these.

You guys are torturing yourselves! Don't look at the list, forget about this thread, deny that this is actually a thing and one day you'll wind up with a surprise at your doorstep!

Hey Justin, turns out somebody will be bringing their HE-400 to a local meet next month so you can take me off the list and bump somebody else up there

Can't wait to pick up the LCD-2s tomorrow! I'll be comparing them to the HE-500 on my rig. I spent a little time with them at the DC meet in December, but got sucked into the vortex of awesome that is the HE-6 + GS-X combo :)

Very nice.

I actually received them the same day my Ultrasone Signature Pro's arrived, so most of my comparisons were between those two models. The set that I've been used to was the PRO 900, obviously a very different beast. The HE-500's were very airy and wide compared to either of the Ultrasones due to them being closed. The SP's don't have quite the same width, but it feels like the sound is more three dimensional. As if the 500's were still parallel with my head, but my head was really wide, and the SP's are slightly outside and forward. The space between instruments on the 500's made inner lines much more evident, although both pairs appeared to be similar in this regard when put to the test. Bass held up surprisingly well to the SP, but the force and impact wasn't there. The 500's are an EXTREMELY good value at their market price, although I'm still glad I bought the SP's.

I'll post more impressions when I don't have work in the morning, lol.
