I have been looking AKG550 and like the look and feel of this.., and currently own Bose Quiet Comfort 15. Can anyone please recommend similar headphones..? My budget range is up to $500.

I've had the K550 for a few months now, not really an "in your face" kind of sound, but good detail.
As it's only 32-Ohm, I would be preferred to use the K550 with a headphone amplifier with an output impedance od 4-Ohms or less.
 
What sources will you be plugging the headphones into?

Hi Andrew,

The AKG K550 is a good headphone! Just go for it already there's the new K545 though. Pair the K550 with a warmer amp and you are good to go

Unfortunately the store doesn't have the AKG 550 however they are willing to sell AKG 551 for the same price. Do I lose anything if I were to purchase the AKG 551? I know the 551 has a smaller code compared to the 550.
