I was wondering how the Little Dot MK VII would pair up with HE-500. The HE-500 needs approximately 1W at 32 ohms. Asgard provides 1.3W at 32ohms.

Here is what the little dot Mk VII provides -  Power Output : 2000 mW into 120 ohms, 800 mW into 300 ohms

This seems like Lyr territory. I was wondering if anybody had experience with Little Dot MK VII with HE-500 or other similar Hifiman's. Also any comparisons between the Schiit's and Little Dot for HE-500 would be helpful. Thanks

As the HE-500s are only 38-Ohms, I would "guess" a Little Dot MKVII is overkill.
Maybe a Little Dot 1+hybrid, as it's for low Ohm headphones, and is way cheaper then the MKVII.

What are you using for a DAC?

I might be able to get a MKVII for cheap, that's why I was asking in particular. For my source, I have a Fiio E10 and Marantz CD5004, and will get a balanced rig going in the near future.

I'm now actually interested in the Little Dot 1+ as well. Anybody have experience with the HE-500 with that combo or something similar? I read that the LD 1+ can do 800 mW at 32 ohms, however the HE-500 needs 1W at 32 ohms

I just saw on another thread, someone said even the Little Dot MKII does not have enough power for the HE-500s.
So I'm guessing the Little DOT 1+ hybrid would not be enough.
Ask on these threads, better chance of getting a good advice on an amp.
