I could be wrong, but that looks like a slightly altered picture of an HD-600... either that, or the 650 looks nearly identical to the 600.

The 650 looks identical to the 600, except for the color, headband cushion and cable.

The headband also appears to extend farther on either sides and might fit large heads better.

Still wondering what the price will be, of course I may just wait for Head-Fiers to get upgraditis, and pick up a pair of 600's for a song

I tell you, Sennheiser better do something about its tight 580/600 headband. The so called 'vise grip' is definitely annoying. That would be good news if the 650 comes with a larger headband, but I think that's unlikely. Can anyone confirm this?

What I'll probably do is upgrade to the HD 590 someday, as I like the Senn sound but miss the comfort. I hear the 590s are very comfy.

There are ways to loosen it (e.g. stretching between stack of books when not in use, gentle bending, etc). The only problem is that once it's looser, it tends to move around on your head more -- velvety earcups + soft headband = little grip (unlike pleather, which has some natural grip). In fact, it can start slipping off your head if you look down.

I don't see much of a solution aside from a fairly radical design change... which actually isn't too bad an idea. HD-700, anyone?

fewtch,

I tell you man, I've done the book thing and I've bent it with my hands as well, and it's still very tight. I guess I'm a really big headed dude...

Same as me. Actually, I can probably wear it infinitely without even feeling it.

Well guys, it is true that my HD 580s are still kinda new (two months old). Granted, they aren't as tight now as they were the first day I wore them, probably due to all the book stretching I've put them through.

Heh. Back when I had the HD600s, I'd get the "smooshed jaw" effect within ten minutes. Meanwhile, with the CD3000s, the headband sits almost directly on top my my head - much like the problem bangraman experiences (though for me, it fits just right).

Yea, I have a big head. And yet I'm somehow only 5'6".
