RS-1 has better resolution and detail while HD 650 has wider soundstage... this is what I know about the main difference between them.

Don't know if you're considering the Beyer DT880 and Sony CD3000 also, but these are all in top players. It really depends on your tastes. We need more info to go on since they're all targeted for "music" (at least I hope

I have er4s so I would't consider the Beyer DT880.
I don't like the style of sony cd3000.
