I'm thinking about buying a new set of headphones to replace my HD 212Pros and after doing some research I've come up with the HD 595 and the ATH A900.

I was interested in knowing, in terms of sound quality, which one is better.
I do prefer closed headphones, but if the difference (in sound quality) is considerable, I'd go with the 595's.

Also, in terms of availability, I've found the 595's on ebay.co.uk (new for 130€ shipped) but the A900's I've only found on audiocubes (for 150€ shipped).

My problem with audiocubes is customs, does anyone have any experience ordering from them, will they send the item as a gift with no value to reduce taxes?
Also, if anyone knows where to get them cheaper, preferably inside the EU, it would be great.

I greatly appreciate your help

from what i heard, the 595 is clearer, less bassy.

the a900 adds a weight to the music the 595 doesnt have, so it might be your cup of tea, either way.

comments based on burned in 595's im using now and a out of the box a900. FYI the a900 sound bassy out of the box to me, but the 595 are awful before burn in, no bass at all.

The HD595 bass deficiancy is fixed by a tube amp.

depends on the music you listen to. i found the A900 to be a much more lively, fun headphone. i don't find the HD595 to be a very good headphone unless it's amped (that's just IMO, many actually like it quite a bit even unamped... i just fuond it to be boring and very thin on bass)
