The HD555 is an interesting headphone because of the problems it has... it's cracked on the hinges on both sides for me, but I never thought to act on the warranty for that cause I thought it was my fault. Now, however, a bigger problem is occurring... something is wrong with the cable or the drivers, but the two drivers are not equal in volume... when I do the windows test tones the right one is out of balance from the left one. I just started noticing this today.
I'm pretty upset about that.
The problem is this: I did the foam mod on these headphones when I bought them 2 years ago. I also bought them 2 years ago. So not only is the warranty probably expired, but I think I might have voided it anyway.
I'm curious to see if Sennheiser would still help me, or if I should just not bother.
tl;dr the hinges are cracked on both sides, and the right driver is starting to act up (it doesn't sound as wide as the left one), should I try to contact sennheiser?
