if you take apart the 280 pros, revealing the innards, and the diaphram, there are 2 small ports leading from directly behind the drivers out to the outside under a cover on the back of the enclosures. i took some small screws and drilled them into the ports to make them larger in diameter, and it opened up the low end a bit it seems. I will post pictures when i get the time sometime this week. also, I linked a link to my cord mod :
Short Cord Experiment
i fixed the cord so that it is not reversed (the cords were colored incorrectly) and i am very glad i did the mod (except the 2 holes in my pads....) the sound seems a tad revised with the gold plated rat shack cable. i soldered the wire directly to the connectors/wires, not the small chip, which seemed to work better. the cord almost never gets in the way and does not weigh the headphones down on one side like before. if anyone else does these mods, tell me what you think. im highly pleased.
