Well Head-Fi, I came into possession of a pair of broken Denon D310s, the plastic fork on the left earcup has snapped.  Now, the drivers and the rest of the frame is fine, but after taping the fork back together and listening to them for bit, I think they're a little sub-par and I'm not really sure what to do with them.

Previously, I had thought about milling out some new aluminium forks and headband(keeping the old pleather and steel upper frame) with some wooden cups to house the old drivers, listening to them...well, I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

Ideas? Junk them or make something nice and hope I come by some nicer drivers later? Maybe there's a method of damping them so they aren't so bass heavy, etc.
Help me Head-Fiers!

Will it blend?

If you can mill out a set of forks that is probably the coolest option.
Second guess would be to find a different headphone with no drivers that the drivers from this headphone will fit into, and transplant. Then blend the body of the old headphone.
