I'm reading all these glowing reports in the amp section about the Sonic Impact T amp and how well it powers small speakers or K1000s. Has anyone figured out how to mod it to drive normal headphones yet?

I suggest that you PM Head-Fi member gsferrari. He's been trying to modify this amp. for general headphone use.

I did a search on the "T" a while back, and someone in a post, about things that you shouldn't do with the T-amp (I don't remember which post), said that tying the grounds together was a no-no, which seems to pretty much rule out using it a headamp, unless you rewire your 'phones to dual mono.

I actually have a pair of HD580s right now that I could possibly rewire for dual mono, if that was the only way to make it work, but I'd prefer to keep the wiring standard for use with any headphone if possible.

I did see the comment about not tying grounds together, but that didn't keep me from wondering if there might be some workaround.

I tried connecting an Antique Sound Lab UHC-Signature headphone adapter to a "T", but it didn't work. Got lots of clipping.
