I have experimented with cranesong ibis eq, which is an outstanding eg and had great results. But, you must understand that eq's are all about filtering. They do a really good job eliminating any distortion but also some detail at certain frequencies. The only thing I will say is for you to try it out. I decided to sell the ibis and go another direction which I have done a lot of ugrading capacitors until I have found the right combo of caps to make my system extremely neatral. Good Luck!

This thread seems a bit old but you never know. I picked up a dbx231, but it adds a lot of noise and seems ro be getting worse. More hiss than hum. Anything that can be done besides tossing it in the trash? Obviously thsts dramatic but I'm bot sure why it would have changed and I hope it's not negatively affecting my other equipment. Would some sort of 60hz filter work?
