Yeah, my 325is (al-u-minium,) are so bright and unlistenable that I can't seem to take them off my ears. Man, this is torture. Wait, I need to put them back on just to make sure. Yup. Wait, I need to try them again for a real long time, it's the only way.

I just recently saw a pair of those at a local audio shop. What in the HECK is going on there? I liked the last 325is, but I can't imagine buying those purely on aesthetics. Are they actually made of Stainless Steel? Sure looks like it in person.
Like Mercuttio said, the difference is big. The new chrome SR325is is bright visually under the right light, that's about it;not so much sonically imo.
Just that all those cool pictures of great HP's is like headphone porn. Definitely not an insult in case you were thinking that. As a matter of fact, tomorrow I'll be ordering a set of Grado SR325i's. Yeah baby!
lets face it.. all Grado's are bright! they are bright sounding by design, even the is's'si's!. If you are used to hearing Grado's, and then go for one of the wood or "i" models then I believe you will hear the difference in a smoother top end. Also the better your source is the calmer the top end will be too.
Congrats on your purchase, but people who love Grado's love "bright" and so to try and always get away from "bright" or to want to tame it seems a bit awf.. if you dewnt mind me saying sew sar!
