So I'm starting to heavily modding my Grados
 
I'm mainly doing a recable but I want to put a 3.5mm jack on one side and cross over the cable to the side through the headband.
 
Here's my problem: Do I have to drill to put the 3.5mm jack in on one cup?
 
I've seen other mods using 2.5mm mono jacks on both sides without drilling, but I want the one side input.
 
Any help, pics or comments can help.

Like this? I don't know about one-side though. Neutrik has a very tiny plug that would work in that situation I believe.

I fear that your bowl pads will get in the way of your plug. You can try a stereo 2.5mm plug/jack as that'll have a lower profile compared to a normal 3.5mm plug/jack.
