What ? Yes, my impression is that this Grado HP1000 (I have found a NOS pair), is simply a musical instrument like no any other cans I remember, even considered the king R10 or my K1000.

This baby is so musical and no technical that I' can't imagine something like this. No any other Grados (IMHO) has this natural, EQUILIBRATED and "analogical" sound as the HP1000, I had many times RS1 and GS1000, no story, for me and my tastes the only one Grado is the HP1000, withiu any offence for those who have or prefer other Grados cans...

I'm very impressed with the emotional impact of this jewel...

The HP1000 is drived by my Yamamoto.

I would like to ask something about this HP1000 to the Grado's expertfiers please replay, thanks !
The cans is in perfect condition even considering the red letters on both the cups, this HP1000 (is a HP2) because they do not have the phase inverters, the grill is not flat as other units... the cable is the UWB reference, guys tell me something more about this HP1000...

Best!

A NOS pair? Lucky you!

I have the same thing, except mine show a little wear. Don't worry, they still sound good even if a letter or two wears off! I don't have any information about them not found in threads here, but it is worth your time searching old threads about them.

I agree with you on the sound. There is something magical about these headphones. As you listen more, you will hear how they melt away and disappear, leaving nothing but music. Enjoy them!

Right! But I think that the K1000 di per sè do not has the same grade of musicality of the HP1000, most of the result on my K1000 setup is for the Air Tight amp...

The HP1000 may be sound good with many amps... not so critical as the K1000, but this is only an impression...

Oh yes... "leaving nothing but music" perfect words to describe the cans...

I would agree with you there. HP1000, K1000... all great dynamic 'phones.

I must wonder, though. Have you ventured much into the electrostat world?

I have the new Stax Omega MK2/SRM 007tII... I had also the precedent Omega with many rudistor amps custom for them...

markl, the d5000 is a fantastic cans I do not changed my opinion, if I speak of another toy this do not means that...

but now a direct comparison with the same amp (Yamamoto) tells that the HP1000 is more neutral and musical even respect to the D5000 or the K1000.

hard to say which one of these 3 cans is the "better" ... just my impression of this HP1000 is that this is a musical instrument, I did not said this for the K1000 neither for the D5000, (if I remember well I said the same expression for my first R10).

the HP1000 do not have the same amount of bass of the d5000, but may be it is better even for this...

med are at the same level but different, more neutral for the Grado, but incredibly good for the Denon...

The Grado HP1000 HP2 w/ JGSUWBRC was love at first listening, I had the chance to hear them for 30 minutes in a complete silent room, that's it, not even the Omega II present could rescue me from the downward spiral of Head-fi spending.

Brother nik ...

I am surprised that it has taken you this long to find the promised land. What a long, strange journey it has been for you.

I have shared that nirvana of Grado HP2 +Yamamoto HA-02, and agree that it is heaphone bliss. Congrats on finding your perfect sound, no matter how temporary - we all love taking the journey with you.

Peace, love, and happy holidays - whatever that may mean to you and whomever reads this.
