I think I’d be keen for some more lows and a general well rounded improvement. I think what I love most about the SR80e I’ve got is vocals and mids. I think generally any of the X series might be up my alley but I’m thinking sr225x. I used to have a hemp and it was awesome.

I found the sr225e to be a very significant upgrade from my sr80e....like the sr80e with better bass/mid bass definition. The sound of the sr225e is like a perfected sr80e. Since it's an older model the sr225e may be available used. I also had an sr325e and while it sounded fine it eventually broke due to the heavy weight of the metal cups. The sr325e were heavier to wear - the 225e has the same comfort as the 80e. I did the reverse pad mod.

Absolutely! Thank you for the response. Living in New Zealand, my options for the used market are limited unless a seller is okay with international shipping haha. There's a couple listings from some folks in Canada. Tempted to contact and ask about it. If I'm unable to get the "e" model, I'm sure I'll still really enjoy an "x" 225 model so I can just buy one new since it's readily available in stock. Wonderful to know the 225 is a good step-up The 325 metal casing look is very cool, but there's something I still love about the all black plastic cups a little more though. Even looking at my sr80e on my desk makes me wanna grab some coffee if it's in the morning, and a beer if it's night time after work.
Hemp with Nyczaj gimbals and black Turbulent Labs headband for sale. Also a 325e. Need some money but will make good price for a Grado lover!

The PS500X so far is simply a level above the RS2X. When EQ'd the RS2x is very good, the PS500X without EQ exceeds it in expansiveness, bass slam and depth, tone and smoothness. It's unfortunate that this is a very limited run and I'm quite happy to have stumbled upon it after missing out initially.

The PS500x has a distinct sound that I haven't found in any other current Grado headphones. Even after trying the RS1x and RS2x, none of them quite live up to it in my experience. It's unfortunate that many Grado fans may never get the opportunity to experience one of the finest, if not the best, "X driver" Grado.

Nah, $349.00US, which translates to $500.00Cdn. and then sales tax and a charge for crossing the border.
I will be looking at about $600.00, landed. Pretty affordable for a Canuck in this hobby. Coming in under my FiiO FT5's.
