Is that really just 3+ hours of 2 dudes talking? I despise the trend of audio review / talk videos even when they're only 10 - 15 minutes! Vastly prefer written word, and even then I scan for the interesting bits.

The guy at The Headphone Show has never really liked Grado and that's fine. I look at Grado as the "Klipsch speaker" of the headphone world. It's seems to be a love or hate thing. I just sit back and enjoy the music with my Grados and laugh at some of these reviewers, many are quite full of themselves. I personally cannot listen to a Sennheiser HD600, doesn't mean I don't appreciate its importance in the headphone community or think it is not a quality product it defiantly is, I just don't prefer the sound of it. The guy at The Headphone Show can at times comes off poorly about Grado in general and that is unfortunate.
Yes ! I want to be using my headphones for music not crappy audio reviews. I can read crappy audio reviews while I listen if I need a fix of crappy audio reviews
FWIW: Just a little time for reflection: When I first listened to my RS1x, I was so pleased about the SQ. I immediately ordered a new headband (as I have done for many of my other Grados). I didn't think of the gimbals - as opposed to my other Grados (where I bought new ones), at arrival these were made of metal, so no need to change....However, I happened to discover, that the RS1x didn't get as much attention as they should. Eventually, I found out that this was due to the "sliding syndrome". The driver and wood and everything else, was so heavy, that is basically was impossible to maintain an ideal listening position on the ears/head (without sitting completely still). Eventually, I gave in and ordered the Nyczaj's gimbals, and voila - new HPs. They simply stay put, while I am moving around - so nice. Retrospective wisdom is an exact science (but I am still wondering why I need to buy for 125USD additional gear to make such a (relatively) expensive HPs work properly)....
Look at it this way: the headband / gimbal / rod assemblies (and cables) are outsourced and of reasonable quality - this helps to keep the retail price of the headphones down. Were Grado to ‘go premium’ on the hardware, the price to the headphone buyer would be greater. [Besides, I get satisfaction from my ‘improving’ an already excellent headphone.]
