I rarely use closed backs. The Radiance and Cascades are not getting nearly enough use!
For me it's GH2's/Focal Clear's, followed by HE6se V2's.
And then the rest fight for placement!
I had the GW100 v2 which I enjoyed quite a bit. I was doing more audio books, podcasts with a little music listening. As I got to like it even more the new x series appeared and getting good notice.
The x is more open and spacious and even better bass (which was already good on the v2.
It really is a special product with it’s own niche.
FWIW: I still enjoy the OG GW100 - have made a slight 5 cent mod of the pads, but they are really good (BT connection is quickly lost though, only a few meters). When wired even better...
RS-1x (makeover) in action with Woo WA6: (I had to use a silver h/p/a to match the nyczaj audio hardware on RS-1x. I like the added weight; the headphone ‘feels’ more solid. I feel less vibration being transmitted through the hardware - must be good for the sound!)

Was the BT signal always that weak or intermittent? Both the v2 version and the current x version never loses BT in my apartment which is 1,000 square feet. Maybe you should reach out to your dealer or Grado Labs to see if that was normal on the first version.

I read in a review of the V1 that the BT functionality (distance and quickness of pairing) was not very good.
I think it might be time for TooFrank to upgrade his GW100 to the X version. You will get better BT features...and I'm willing to bet (from what I've read) that you will also get better SQ.
I'm telling you guys, the GW100x is a fantastic headphone (not just a great BT headphone).
If I'm wrong and you don't like the GW100x, I'll let you whip me a couple of times with the Grado cable of your choice.
I believe that it is the leather. When I ordered the nyczaj gimbal / rod / block assemblies, the steel bands were listed separately on the nyczaj website.

I have a second set of the gimbals etc. I just haven’t gotten to XLR RS-1x . Busy enjoying TRS RS-1x with the nyczaj audio hardware. Call me , but … RS-1x sounds a touch more ‘cohesive’, a touch ‘firmer’ with the installation - less resonance of materials.
Those Gimbals cannot be too large for the PS500e as it has about the same size as all the other non-GS Grados. I have Shipibo gimbals on my 500e. So try again!
FREE AT LAST! i butchered those uncontrol able cables with 3.5mm jack and added nyczaj gimbal / rod / block. Much much more comfortable. The RS2 sounds tremendously good with balanced cable to the Ultrasonic Studios Oblivion. Next victim will be the PS500e.
