For anyone that's reterminated or replaced a Grado headphone cable, are there four wires for the entire length of the cable; all the way to the phono plug? RE: I thought I'd read a post where the left and right ground were joined at the Y connector and a common ground was used from the Y to the phono plug, hence, three wires..

Oh, and, is the same cable configuration used for all? HF-1, RS-1, and PS-1?

Appreciate any help . . . Yes, looking at balancing a pair for a quick experiment and then possibly reterminating with 1/8"

From my experience, the cable is a four-wire cable that is split into two pairs at the Y-split.
