My stepmom just gave me a bunch of color slides from my childhood, with both parents and everything.

Can anyone recommend a good place to have them scanned? I'd like to get some high quality jpeg's from these, if it's possible. (the slides 'look good' without any magnification, but I'm not really sure how clean they are)

I'm in Australia so can't suggest a place to do it, but consider asking for TIFF files rather than JPEGs, and don't let them clean the slides physically - too much risk involved, especially when it can be done digitally...

Hmmm...that looks cool, and cheap compared to some of the scanners. Looks like it would put an awful lot of torque on the camera, but then, it's probably not more than some of the giant lenses one can buy.
