Correct. It also has only on input, no output, and only one headphone jack. Other than that, it's the same circuit.

But, at $250 how will it compete with the META42?

I would like to know too. I could get a fully loaded Meta Amp w/ on board PS for that price.

well i am excited about the prospect, although i expected a different price. it is kinda cool that Headamp will have the Lite look different than the full v2.

however, now I'm regretting not buying eht v2 at preorder prices.

i wonder what about size and weight.
so..the main difference in size is because of the power supply?

So this is basicly a V2 without pre-amp option, and a lesser power supply?

I think a lot of the gilmore's character came from its PSU

Hi andrzejpw,

I'm a newbie and don't know much about electronics.

Appreciate if you'd shed light on the role played by PSU (power supply) in the performance of Gilmore V2. How important is it? Do you know what "elpac" is?

I'd like to buy a headphone amp and am happy to see this new Gilmore Lite which is within my budget.

Before knowing there's a new Gilmore Lite, I'm thinking of Meta42.

Thx!

is it up on headamp.com yet? and can i just use the linear regulated elpac power supply i use with my meta? can i order without the wall wart? do you think my meta (the one in my sig) wil compare sound wise to the lite?
