I am thinking of getting some powered speakers and connecting them to the loop out of a Gilmore Lite (which I don't own yet...). While I think this should work (technically), what I need to know is whether I will be able to regulate the volume of the speakers using the Gilmore Lite. The most likely candidate for the speakers will be the M-Audio Studiophile BX5a, and the volume control is located on the rear of the speakers. Due to some constraints in how and where I would have to position the speakers, it will be impractical or even impossible to control the volume that way.

Any help appreciated.

Yes the loop out on the Gilmore is controlled by the volume knob, so all you would need to do is set your speakers rear volume to a specific point and leave it, then the volume can be controlled by the Gilmore. The setting of the speaker volume could be at the highest setting, but you might find the sound more favorable at a lower setting, you'll want to play around with it to get the best result.

Thank you! Sounds like having an amp with loop out is incredibly handy.
