First the bad news: the answer is probably the Grado RS 2i and 1i.
 
The good news: they have different and larger ear pads than your SR 80.  This could be a major comfort improvement for you...but no guarantees.  Try them on your head before you buy them.

What is the general consensus on the best pair of phones for EDM for $150 or less? I listen to pretty much 98% EDM of all types. Name an artist and I probably listen to him. Armin, Tiesto, Zedd, Porter Robinson, Tritonal, SHM, Sander Van Doorn, Dash Berlin, etc. I do listen to other genres from time to time, mainly hip-hop/R&B, but I want a set of headphones that excel at EDM. So far from what I've read it sounds like both the ATH-M50s and the M-Audio Q40s are contenders for my needs given my budget. What else should I be considering? I can be somewhat flexible on price but really trying to keep it under 2 bills. 
 
If it matters at all, these will be running off my computer powered by an X-Fi Titanium Fatality. Pretty outdated, I know, but its what I have to work with for the time being.

Looking to buy my first cans. I wanted to shift from IEMs to full-size cans now. I usually listen to all genres of music be it pop, house, electro, alternative, rock, classical, etc. I'm basically looking for a good all-rounder and I had two headphones catch my attention. Not really looking for something too neutral as I would just be using it to enjoy music but with the detail there so I don't want anything like beats that are far too bassy. Which would be better?

Bought a pair of 250 Ohm Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros yesterday. I told the shop that I would be using them for personal use (gaming, listening to music etc) and told them I'd be powering them off the sound card on my computer so they advised the 250 version. However I am having trouble getting the sound card to work with my computer. If I continue to struggle I will look to go down the portable amp route instead. 
 
So at this point I have two questions:
 
1) Was the shop right in recommending me the 250 ohms with regards to what they will be used for?
2) If I do decide to get a portable amp, what one should I go for? Will something like the FiiO E06 be okay?

I did visit our BestBuy which had a limited number of phones to try on. The UE6000 they had seemed to have a broken button - you could not cycle it on/off. The light was on indicating it was on, but there was next to no noise reduction and the sound did not shine. I realize this was probably a broken pair, but it was enough to scare me away. I did try some Blaupunkt Custom One noise canceling which I sent right back. Poor canceling and poorer sound. I was hoping that a high isolation passive canceling phone might work better. Out of this selection, which has the highest isolation aside from the Logitech? I am going to add Logi's into the mix so now I am back to 6.
 
Also went back and forth with the Shure 440 vs 840. Seemed to find more people happy with the isolation on the 440 vs 840. Is that the case? What are other differences?

I've saved up some money for my future M-100 and already plan on buying something else
This time I'm interested in flat/neutral and accurate/analytical sounding cans preferably for 300$ or less.
Open or closed doesn't really matter.
Any suggestions?

The Sony is on there, but I'm a little hesitant that a $65 headphone is going to deliver what I'm looking for. Still, no color lines, right? If anyone can think of any other decently closed-back, neutral, and relatively airy cans to try, I'm all ears.

I'm currently using Logitech G35 headset. I'm thinking of upgrading to Senn hd 598 (they seem to be good all around headphones), however I've heard that they have kinda weak bass. Can anyone compare the bass of G35 to hd 598, obviously senns are better but how much of a punch do they carry compared to this headset ?

The 598 has neutral-ish bass.  Have not heard your headset.  The 598 is not a can for bassheads of any stripe.
