The amp is neat. 
If it were the R10 preamp Id hit it.

oh, I wasn't talking about the sound of it. just the price. they probably are superb headphones, but their high price is mostly due to the rarity factor.

Depends on whether they are the bass heavy (which is really more like bass neutral, not sure why they are referred to as bass heavy) or bass light version.  The bass heavy ones are some of the best if not the best closed headphones ever made.  The bass light are nothing special, imo.
