Missed that part! Haven't handled a green pair yet so don't have info on that.
Haven't encountered this on any of the red mk II's.

I wasn't aware of this common "loose" cup attribute. Can you elaborate?

Hi guys, this loose swivel issue was a small problem that occurred with the initial run of these phones (the original TH-900, not the Mark II) when they first came out.
Fostex solved the problem on the subsequent production runs.

Hm, well my issue is involving this part for adjustment. 20180728_181250.jpg

Not this.

From what I read on both adjument points they both had different but fairly common issues, but perhaps I was misinformed. My issue causes the cup to swing a little more on one side. It looks like this. 15328162767802193075937554444122.jpg

I can't insert my finger as far on the opposite cup in the same gap in addition the movement of this side is "smoother" to the point if I where to remove the headphones from my head & rotate them they would move unassisted while the cup on the opposite side would not.

My Emerald (Serial #29) ones are the same, maybe not as far as yours but our fingers are different. I can get it slightly further “in” on one side.

On my red ones (Serial #10805), the same slight imbalance happens and on both sides my fingers go in further than either side on my Emerald ones.

I have not noticed this until looking for it based on this thread and comparing them. It has not affected my wearing comfort or usability with them.

Usually the issue is OCD. Many in a hobby have it and it ends up costing a lot of money.

The link above is working. The Adorama deal is back for the Emerald Green TH900mk2 for $899.99

Don't suppose it works on the Sapphire Blue model? (I need to get on their email list...)

Guilty, honestly I'm not overly concerned about the movement, I only bring it up because of reading somewhere on here that the cup became loose enough to fall off completely. No idea how true that is or how loose it would need to be, but if it's an issue that was going to become progressively worse I'd rather avoid it sooner rather than later. Luckily seems I worried over nothing. Thanks everyone!

Looks like Adorama was clearing the Emerald out. I just searched and it is no longer listed. Just Red & Blue.

I’ve communicated with Sonarworks for having the Fostex TH900 mk2 supported on their excellent Tru Fi platform. Unfortuantly they have not recieved enough requests for supporting it yet - but they are close! They only need 20 more requests before they will support it.

If you like the software and wants to see it supported then please send a requst at https://www.sonarworks.com/truefi/headphone-request

I already use the software for my MDR-Z7 and it really makes a difference.

We've been talking with them about a way to get these and some other Fostex products profiled. What this space... :)

Anybody has the 3-d printing dimensional information for the plastic mounting ring of TH-900?
I have several earpads, and if I have extra mounting rings with those earpads it will be easy to change the earpads for different flavor of the sound without reassembling of earpads and the ring.

Thanks
