Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

I just got some th900s, I’m new so bear with me. I have mine hooked up with a Qudelix and was wondering if any bass heads have any eq inputs for me to put in. I have no idea how to eq besides playing with the sliders but that’s it. Thanks
Here is how I have mine set up. I used Oratory1990's presets and modified it from there. Honestly love how this sounds for music when i want to bring out the low end more. You could also simply add a low shelf filter at around 100-125hz and play with it from there if you did not want to mess with the treble. The low shelf filter will essentially raise every frequency under whatever you set it to. Im also using ZMF Ori lambskin pads which on their own gave a looser low end and tamed some of the treble spike. Listening to rock/metal I usually dont run the eq anymore, but i do with and edm or hiphop. With the stock pads I would sometimes run the eq with rock/metal, i find they can sound thin at times for that genre personally.

PS: That Priest "Unleashed in the East" album sounds absolutely amazing through the th900, no eq needed lol. Highly recommend it for any metal heads out there that havent already listened to it.

Have fun but my recommendation, don’t screw up the V. Embrace it.

Apparently we should expect the TH800 at a comparable price. Great solution Fostex!

Hello,
New owner of a TH900 MK2, I am contacting you to find out if it is possible to keep the original cable, which seems to me to be of good quality, but much too long !
Also, I prefer to use the XLR4 output on my singxer SA1.

My question: Can I cut the cable and solder an xlr4 male (symetric is possible ) ?

Thank you for your opinions

For my Fostex TH-610, I asked the master to make such an upgrade.
