Do yourself a favor and snag a pair of satellites from the z-2200/z-680/z-560:

z-560, Desktop Laptop Accessories, Home Audio items on eBay.com

You'll need some RCA to bare wire speaker cables - radio shack sells some made with 18 gauge wire. (and some slightly cheaper made with 24 gauge wire - go with 18)

Of course if you happen to have some nice bookshelves about (and the space), those same wires would let you wire them in as the z-2300's sats. The amp in the 2300 expects an 8 ohm speaker load. I went with the older logitech sats because of desk space - what a difference the 3" drivers make. I have midbass! I can't for the life of me figure out why they switched to the smaller drivers in the first place.

I have the Z-2300 with an X-Fi Prelude. My biggest problem is that the bass on them is far to bloated and muddy.
I have to have the bass on as low as possible most of the time.

How do you find bass on them, any advice on getting a cleaner bass out of the sub?

Placement of the sub is critical. Move it away from corners and/or walls if you can. Mine is elevated on a wire rack and only close to one wall, in a relatively large room.
