I am 100% going to purchase one of these sets of cans. I have done a plethora of research over the past few weeks (my head hurts) and I am still receiving mixed results one one last important point:

Which is better for metal (esp. symphonic/power):

Sennheiser HD25-1 II           or           Audio-Technica ATH-M50

I understand that there are other differences, but I simply want to know from owners/users which one is best for METAL.
Thank you all very much in advance!

Cheers,
Shaun

Consensus from reviews I've read maintain that the Senn's are better for fast-paced rock/metal/electronica...

Still would like to hear from you guys though =D

I owned the Senns and auditioned them against the M50 with one of my main criteria being how they performed for symphonic metal.  The Senns sounded better, and if I remember right, considerably better for Nightwish, Leave's Eyes, and Within Temptation.  Currently enjoying my non Grado magnum v4s as the best thing I've owned for symphonic metal, though I'm starting to really get into trance and dubstep and their performance isn't as good in those genres.
