'Kay, so...for my own reference, is anyone planning on selling their Spirit Pro in the near future?
 
(I might want to buy it if it's for a good price. Bear in mind I got one brand new for $215 without accessories in the past.)

Oh, nice! As you recall, we live near each other too. So now it's just a matter of me deciding whether to buy it from you or put the money I have towards my rent for next month. haha

I developed a greater appreciation for the FSP today, going from the HD 650 back to the Sony MDR-7506, which now sounds tinny and harsh since I was getting used to the darkness and smoothness of the 650. I'm kind of in pain now. lol. Just goes to show you how well the brain adjusts. I'm sure after a few days of adjusting again, it won't be as grating on my poor ears. (Or I guess I could do some proper EQ, if I stop being so lazy.) The FSP is in-between those two extremes and is just a much better balance.
 
So did you find out about the Yamaha?

No, they still didn't respond unfortanetly...

I am sitting here at my listening station and in total amazement  of how well the CypherLabs Picollo is driving my FSP!!! So much slam and speed yet with floating finesse in the treble. This is compared to my other amps the Schiit Asgard 2 and Centrance HiFiM8. I must admit though that I am looking forward to taking delivery of the Cavalli Audio Liquid Carbon amp!! This hobby keeps getting better and better; as well as pricier and pricier. I have found an appreciation for really 'listening to my gear with music' like a true Audiophile......It is only when I realize that my gear has disappeared while listening to music that I am grateful for where this hobby has led my by the ears (pun intended)!!!

Recently joined the Focal Professional club.  I must say, these headphones are really good.  Neutral, good dynamics and presence, transparent and non-fatiguing.  Thankfully these are decently comfortable on my head (I have average sized head and ears) that I can wear them for hours.

I think the UE5 are close. I liked them better than the more expensive UE.

Right now I'm listening to the Spirit Pro, and I'm kinda sad I wasted so much money on them (250 euro's). 
 
The only reason? That harshness in the uppermids. For instance, when I want to relax and listen to a song, the song sounds good in the couplet, but when the chorus comes, that harshness just gets unbearably loud on my ears, so I need to lower the volume down, and when another couples comes on, I need to put the volume higher because otherwise it's just too quite for me to enjoy to music.
 
And the cycle continues with every song, making me not enjoy my music. And I can't return them anymore, because my store had a 2 week return policy, and it's 29 days now since I have them.
 
I'm still hoping for that email I sent that store last Sunday, hoping they're willing to trade my Spirit Pros with the Yamaha MT 220.

What about something non-custom (and more affordable)? Anything come close on the signature if not the overall quality?

I am not an IEM expert but before buying the UE5 I bought the Sennheiser IE80 and I liked them.

Pretty good production for hiphop but has some jacked up highs on cymbal and vocal parts. I could see how you need more forgiving headphones to enjoy that.
