At the time I found HEad-Fi I was in the process of buying an AKG K240S. Then I joined the SOHNC (Secret Organization of Headphone Nut Cases) and got a Grado SR60, then AKG K701, Grado RS-1, Senn HD650, Senn HD580. It is a sickness that's what it is!

My first was a pair of Equation Audio RP-21's.

I found them to be too dark for my taste, but kept them around as my closed set.

After getting a couple more headphones, I then realized how good the rp-21's actually are. I did the foam delete mod on them and they sound much brighter. I fell in love with them after owning them for almost a year. I realized how well they were all around. Unlike my Grado's, I can use them to listen to music and watch movies.

Allessandro MS1. Shortly after fitted with flat pads.

Very good starter phones, they are gone now, but they did a fine job of hooking me up to go on and continue my headphones journey. No regrets (but for my walet).

The Marshmallows, followed by the D1001, then the JBL Reference 220 after the Marshmallows broke. So far the JBL Reference is the worst purchase for me, mainly because of the price I got it at. If you can get it for around $30 that's fine since it comes with a nice iPod case but that case is pretty bulky and is only useful if you need the protection.

The first one was KSC-75, since it was on sale right after I started visiting head-fi after I purchased the E2C. First IEM bought after head-fi is UM1. First headphone bought after head-fi is the q40.
