The Grado SR-60i were my first pair of "audiophile" headphones, and I still use them today. I mostly use them for rock 'n' roll, classical and soundtracks though, I don't like electronic with them at all.

Much as I enjoy Grados, I don't use them for larger orchestral works or film scores. Can you find a CAL (Creative Aurvana Live) -- the original CAL, not the compromise second draft? They're good all rounders and very unlikely to offend. The only downside is that they're a little delicate so you can't throw them around.

May I suggest the Pioneer SE-A1000 ? For $60 or so, they cannot be beat(original MSRP $150) .. Can be found on Amazon..

I have Grado 80i..I like it also but if I had to chose, definitely JVC.
