I am using atom vents free partially and directionally closed/taped

picture of it later

A silicon tape barring 1/4 or less of atom opening

They are not bad , at all , with no atoms ; a small and partial refraction helps both worlds ( bass reverb/resonances and air )

There's more subb in this configuration , less masque by midbass..still complete bass champions

the position of tape affects stage projection , a back/bottom taping results in more frontal stage ( current setup ) , a front position tape results in a more side/behind head stage perception

I asked Bogdan about the atom system and the difference between 64/Fat Freq and FiR is that they "pre-filter" within the shell chamber itself prior to the atoms making the last attenuation differences.

So technically you can get a CIEM with ATOM XS as an option for aesthetics (less of a visual intrusion from the normal atoms sticking out) as well as run them empty (open) but I would be afraid of stuff falling in.

This is why the M0/MX modules (or similar) from 64 neuter the low end so significantly vs the ATOM's making a few dB of personal taste.

I am still in the process of understanding a right size for it. If I stick with it after silver cables roll in ( thing I am not sure at moment ) or forever, I will add a plastic net to prevent anything falling in .

At moment this solution helps with air , highs , subb and clarity, quite something - at slight expense of loss in timbral attitude . And of course midbass 'compression' , or density/thickness : fairly diminished in this case

Custom E10 in the house. Honoring the end of the Bad Batch, a show that had a tremendous impact on me.

How come you went e10 over e12?
A couple of reasons:

I needed a more relaxed and overall neutral choice to level out a gap in my collection. The E12 was too colored for what I have.

Having the RN6, all of FatFreq's stuff, I don't really need more basshead gear considering I am very lucky to have that kind of access.

I also didn't have a single DD custom at all, so there was that in the choice too instead of choosing another frontier series.

I needed something that was more of a true every day carry (as someone who has casually rolled around with my TOTL gear on the go) and the E10 seemed to fit the right line of the house sound I like from FiR.

The E10 is a the natural successor to the VxV, the IEM that started my professional and now personal relationship with FiR's team, so it also has sentimental value.

Hope that gives some context!

Have you installed some eartips on the nozzle?

Hi everyone - I got hold of a pair of Xenon 6. I'm really in love but the ear fit is a bit of a challenge. Does anyone know if Fir is willing to refit a universal into customs? I have STL files ready to go. I reached out to Fir and never heard back.

As rule they re-shell only customs to customs but if you request they might do. Drop them an email or reach out via iMessage. They will charge $900 + return shipping

As far as I know, they do offer via special request - kumar's estimate above sounds right.
