Please note: this is regarding DAC functionality on BETA firmware 3.0.9. The same issues seemed to happen on earlier beta fw versions, but i did not test those.

Hi, CH23
Thank you for taking time to test and reporting such detailed information to us. But would you mind trying some other players in your computer? The 24bits music files can be played well according to the test of our engineers. Sorry if bringing inconvenience to you.
Best regards

Tested in Audacity, here 24bit refuses to play completely, if the X7 is used as DAC.
Tested in Banshee, where the X7 also crashes if a 24bit file is played.

for both of these, 16bit audio plays just fine.

I've now also tested it on another system, with a default install of Trisquel GNU/Linux.
same results as before.

And I have tested it on windows. in volume mixer I tested with every possible sample rate and bit depth. no issues.

When I changed the USB streaming mode in the FiiO Control Panel to minimum latency, Foobar2000 can not play anything anymore after a few seconds, but the X7 did not crash.

To see if the issues I face are Trisquel GNU/Linux related, I installed a windows version of MPV, and played the same tracks with which I have been testing. no problems.

So Finally I will try with the latest version of Ubuntu.

quick question:

I was thinking about buying a chord mojo, would there be any way of pairing both the amp module of the X7 and the mojo? So far all I have seen is the X7 used Coax out, which appears to completely bypass the amp module.

Mojo cannot accept an analog signal, only digital.

What Linux system have you tested your USB DAC with?
at thid point my main OS, Trisquel GNU/Linux.

I have just booted a ubuntu live cd to test on there.

Trisquel is ubuntu minus the proprietary crap.

I changed cables, but it's not helping. I'm still getting random restarts. There's also a good amount of clipping that tends to happen as well. This doesn't happen often enough that I want to roll back, but I hope the next release is a little more stable.
