I have had the google play service problem for months but in the recent week it got so bad it would not let me press the factory reset button in the setup window. had to reset with external buttons. worked for a few hours then crashed again. also added another pop up service menu with options to deny or accept, somthing about allowing google to get data on my device for evaluation purposes.

time to start up my X5.........Jim

I also had the google services error problem. I made a factory reset, download the spotify .apk (the only app I intend to install on this device) to the internal memory and installed it manually instead of using google play.

Guys, I was having the exact same problems. I was able to fix everything last night. Download the new 3.0 firmware which upgraded the device to Android 5.1. Once I did this I let it sit while turned on after accessing wifi. Then I had a prompt to update to 3.0.6 or something like that. After updating to that firmware, all issues with Google Play Store was fixed.

Hope this helps.

PS. Make sure to follow the online instructions that come with the download via PDF. Be careful not to vary from the instructions.

updating to a beta release should not be necessary to get rid of such bugs.

If you don't make use of the google store, can you see if you can disable it altogether? (open drawer, hold play store icon, drag it to 'info', select 'disable')

Hey, I too have had massive issues with the google play service message.. I just uninstalled it, does anyone know if that will have detrimental effects on my x7? I don't use android normally.
Also, with 2.0 has anyone not been able to use the right side buttons for Tidal (the skip track and pause buttons)? Mine aren't responsive.
Thanks heaps.

Had my google apps start crashing on me every few seconds too. Completely uninstalled the Google Apps service and viola - no more crashes at all. Play store still works but some apps complain about "licensing" but still, better than getting that crash prompt every few seconds :D

The incessant google play service message has been bothersome here too.

I have also experienced (intermittent) lack of function of the buttons on the right side when using Tidal, all in FW 2.0.

It apears that the November updates to Google Play servies version 10 does not work at all in Fiio X7.
I would always get the Google Play Services error occasionally but it would eventually go away. But now it is constant, and introduces more problems.
1. Not only is the error constant but Now there is an additional error that ask to send error information Google when the Google Play services crashes.
2. When Google Play servies stops, any app that is running will shutdown! This makes the X7 broken and unusable !
3. Google Play Store does not work.
4. Google Play Music does not work, this is terrible becuase I pay for this streaming service.
5. Reset the X7 to factory defaults does not work.

What I've tried to do.
1. Ive done a boot to recovery mode, cleared the partition cache, and restored the X7 to factory defaults and reinstalled Google Play Services.
2. I tried to find an older version of Google Play Services, which works at first but eventually it gets auto updated to the current version and breaks the X7 again.

So FiiO how is China handling these issues? What can we do?
Firmware 3.0 may need an early deployment.
