Usually stock is pretty good once it's released in the US.  From past releases, it ends up being a few weeks after the Asian releases.  My guess...end of January.

Couple of questions to anyone in the know regarding the 3rd gen.

1. Is there now a seperate option for Artist and Album Artist? They are not always the same and compilations are difficult to use when album artist is Various but individual songs are otherwise.

2. Can I now navigate through album artwork and or with accelerated scroll on text listings? For all the joy the 2nd gen gives me on sound each day, navigating it terrible with 17000 songs on two 200gb cards.

You would think so. I mean the original X3 was released before the original X5 and I seem to remember that the X3II was also released prior to the X5II.

  Yep, X5 3rd gen will be available in Red color, it will be our regular option.

Wow, great news! Can't wait for the global market launch. Definitely going to buy that red X5 3rd gen and with the Chinese New Year coming up, it will be a perfect match for the occasion

1, Not, it is not so common but we should have the chance to add this features in the future. but hard to promise the ETA cause we are focus the bugs and some more important features right now.

Hi James. I'm sure that you have read since the first generation X3 was launched that an Album Artist category has been one of the number one requested features for FiiO DAPs. Hopefully when the firmware is stable FiiO will strongly consider this category.

I don't understand how Album Artist and Artist options would be low on the list. I have multiple compilation albums. The album artist is 'Various Artists', but the songs have a title and artist. Similar problem happens with an album where 9 of the 10 songs are by the same artist but one is by said artist plus another. In this situation finding the main artist and paying the album will miss one track. However the album artist is probably going to be the main one.
I have friends with other players that have the two navigation options but mine is always an effort unless I can recall the album title and play from that.

To the other point, yes, a large mosaic like navigation option of album art would be nice. There are times where one can recall the album artwork but not the title. This would be useful.

Is the battery is user replaceable ?
What is the estimated lifetime (1 year, 2 years, 4 years) of the battery if the X5 iii player is used 4 hours per day ?
 
Lifetime = when the battery will not charge anymore (or will power the player for few minutes only) and must be replaced (if it is possible) or the player throw in the garbage (if the battery cannot be replaced).

sorry, everyone has different opinion about what is the most important features should be added . and now the most important job to us is bug fixed but not more features.
