Using latest driver?  https://www.dropbox.com/s/qqz14rnt6at8q1o/FiiO%20USB%20DAC%20Driver%20v3.34.0.zip

Firmware?  http://www.fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=39932&extra=page%3D1

Latest drivers are digitally signed for Windows 10 so shouldn't have to go through all those hoops of disabling driver signature verification, secure boot etc.

Driver package also includes a pretty comprehensive installation guide in PDF format.

Alright so this is not super helpful but I just installed drivers (no prior installation) on my Win 10 laptop (with ann update) - set my Fiio X5 gen 2 to DAC mode - plugged in and after going through installation routine it's working just fine.

I'd start with a complete uninstall of prior Fiio driver package, re-install driver, then connect X3 and see what happens.

Hi, gregsooir

Have you uninstall the DAC driver and then reinstall it again for try?

If the problem still remain, maybe the version of your Windows 10 is not competible with the driver.

You can try this old driver to see whether it helps:

In some case even the new driver has problem on Windows 10 64 bit. I haven't tried to re-enable secure boot on my system after the update to Winows 10 anniversary edition but with previous insider builds Windows won't load the driver if I don't disable secure boot and was reporting error 52

I can confirm the drivers are not loading when using secure boot on current Windows 10 Production build (14393.576).
Using x3 II, FW 1.6, DAC driver 3.34: the driver installs just fine and loads fine IF secure boot is disabled or Disable driver security option is used to boot the system.

Is there anyone looking into this? Just to clarify, i'm not talking about Win10 beta release (like plesk90 haha. thanks for creating the thread in the first place!), this is production ring and i would prefer to use secure boot on my laptop.

Thanks!

Old thread, but I have a FiiO x5 gen 3.
It works with Win 7 OS at work but not my Win 10 laptop or Win 10 home desktop.
FiiO firmware is updated.
Crazy that a new product doesn't work with the predominant Windows OS.
Makes putting files on it a painful chore.
