Yes. It's a hardware problem. I've looked into it and it is a well known fault. I've had to go to the settings and use fixed volume. OK until I change my headphones.
Dear friend,

If you are using the Android version FiiO Music app, you could adjust the volume in the now playing page by sliding up from the right edge for help still.

Best regards

My M11 Pro battery has swollen over the past week or two and cracked open the back panel. Can anyone advise on a replacement battery? There’s a few options on AliExpress but am unsure which to go with. I presume it’s an easy replacement once I’ve acquired the battery?

How long have you had it? Fiio only warrants the battery for 6mo. If you used a credit card the issuer usually has some kind of insurance for purchases for a year. If you file a claim they will want pictures of the device, proof that the mfr warranty is expired and that it can’t be repaired. A quick trip to an electronics repair shop should solve that issue. Have them document it for you. Once you submit the docs and proof that you replaced the device you will get credited back on your card. As an alternative you could reach out to Fiio. The replacement of the battery isn’t that easy as a few on-line videos have shown.

This is why I always use a credit card for purchases like this.

Unfortunately I bought it back in November 2019, so no options for me with regards to return or reimbursement. I’ll seek out those online videos you mentioned and see if it’s something I feel comfortable handling, or whether it’s best passed over to a mobile phone repair shop or similar.

It’s been voiced millions of times on this and other threads, but why do manufacturers not make it easier to replace device batteries? Surely it makes sense to allow owners to easily address the most common failure point?

thats how they get you to buy another one...
Maybe that’s the intent, but it just makes me more wary about dropping significant amounts of money on flagships. A £500 brick is horrible, imagine the feeling if it’s a £2k+ brick….

Thank you @Lifter59, that’s a great start. The back of my M11 has already started to pop off, and that sounds like the hardest part of the job.

yep... I wrote fiio about a year ago and asked them for their expensive units that they would switch over to a rechargeable battery solution so when the batteries did go out you could just put in a new set.. similar to a flashlight, but with better batteries that are available today... I don't want to spend $1500 on a DAP and have to put it into a drawer after the battery dies...

100% agree, it’s a big concern. Did Fiio respond to you?

Are there any top tier DAPs with removable/ easily replaceable batteries? The only similar thing I can think of is the Cayin C9, and it’s telling they didn’t go for a similar solution on the N8ii.
