Forgot to say, my settings are the same as yours, and I also tried changing some before, but that didn't help.
I’m sorry to hear that. I really hope FiiO will identify the problem and address it for everyone.

In the meantime, may I suggest that you use the BTR15 in High Gain mode at a lower volume? I believe it would be safer. Thanks to this bug, I’ve accidentally blasted my ears many more times than I’m willing to admit. 😅

Could you please try resetting the BTR15 using the Fiio App?

1. Open the Fiio App and select your BTR15.
2. Click on the settings option in the top right corner.
3. Choose “restore to default settings.”

Then you can set low gain from the device itself.
I tried this about an hour ago, and the problem seems to be fixed (at least for now).

Ok, that's one straw I hadn't tried to grasp. I just tried, and it did work, but only through the first power off/on cycle. I just rebooted the device again, bug appeared just as before.

Yes, I've been doing that for some days now. Leaving gain on H, not blasting my ears, I mean :gs1000smile:

i can totally relate. and while H doesnt blast your ears it still sounds worse compared to L- if you listen closely you will notice that treble gets even more boosted on H and bass looses authority compared to L

Never mind. Sadly, the problem is here again today.

There's hope regarding the gain issue. I just checked Fiio's forum, and they've finally been able to reproduce the issue. I just noticed sofastreamer was the one who reported the issue there. Thanks! This is Fiio's reply:

The engineers have reproduced the problem with the L gain. And it will still take the software team some time to fix the problem. We will release the new firmware for you when the software team shared it with us.

I guess we'll just have to wait for the new firmware release.

Dear friend,

1. I failed to reproduce the volume problem with EQ.
2. When you go into the advanced options the interface shrinks and sometimes there is no way to properly set the Q factor further down.
--Would you mind showing a picture or video about that?
Thanks in advance!

Best regards
Hi, After doing more tests I have to say that it doesn't always happen to me, but for some reason when the mobile is full of memory or I quickly switch from one application to another (with the recent functionality of android ) and go back to Fiio Control in the advanced settings of the equalizer it becomes unstable, and the virtual keyboard freezes without being able to exit. It's a lottery.
(I can't upload video in mp4 format and be able to demonstrate the problem, sorry)

@FiiO
i also already stated before, that the app (or the device) forgets some of the settings every now and then. in my case it often changes all the volume settings and the distortion compensation settings. i dont use any eq tho, so this might also be affected. my phone is a Samsung S20FE atm.

btw i have tested the usb dac feature and can report, that the random reboot doesnt occur in that mode. it only happens when using bt.

And another important thing with the Q factor. It won't let me set the value to 0.53 and it goes to 0.52. Setting the value to 0.52 or 0.54 does it correctly. But not with 0.53. Thanks.
Dear friend,

Hi, we have reported to the APP engineer to check about that. Hope he could fix this problem soon.

Best regards

I really like the Hybrid Fast filter of BTR15 with MMKIII.
