I am on my second pair of ER-6 now.
The first pair developed intermittent contact problems on both sides where the cables connect inside the earpieces, i.e. depending on cable/earpiece location the sound comes on/goes off. I bought another pair and after a few months of heavy use I am getting the same problem on the right driver/earpiece/whatever you call it.
Although I love my ER-6 I really don't want to buy another pair and since I am in Europe the cost of shipping/repair is probably not economical.
So I am looking for an alternative
- Insulation key due to subway noise (at least close to ER-6 level)
- Robust cabling
- Sound quality desirable but since on the commute I mostly listen to podcasts these days a compromise could be reached. And at home I use different headphones anyway.
- Must work unamped
- <100 $/€
Any comments appreciated.
