Well, I have been using the Musiland Monitor 01 USD for a few days now as a tranpsort for Audio-gd DAC-100 and here are my impressions:
Sound:
Well the Musiland seems to have cleaned a little bit of "muddiness" in the highs, also the bass seems stronger and more articulate (in comparison with the EMU 0404).
Even in very familiar recordings, I heard some subtle new details that weren't there before.
Ease of use:
the Musiland USD is much easier to use than the EMU 0404 USB.
For example, the digital out of the EMU 0404 works only with asio and the sample rate has to be manually adjusted when used with non asio players.
On the other hand the Musiland works flawlessly with either asio or direct sound without any adjustment.
