I didn't know that the 'rights and brands' to the names Muhammad Ali and Elvis Presley were 'owned' in the first place. I wonder what Ali thinks of this.

CKX are the gits who created Pop Idol. Whilst its entertaining for some (agony for me) to watch hapless stargazed souls bleed their hearts all over Simon Cowell's nipple high trousers, its not promoting musical creativity in any sense.
Neither good nor bad. Elvis and Ali's accomplishments have been so thoroughly absorbed into pop culture that using their names as brands doesn't do anything negative to the way people perceive them. They were both media creatures from the start anyway, so I don't know what difference this really makes.....................
