im new here guys, you'll be seeing me a lot in this thread going foward. I'm involved in a big edm scene in Tampa, FL

welcome!

Yeah that's what I'd call 'liquid dubstep'. Or Daystep, when the imagry is like a nice summer day on the beach, perhaps at a festival. :) God do I miss summer festivals.

Im going to try to do a song a day atleast out of my 2 terabyte music collection of edm for ya'll. itll vary between dnb, dubstep, house, chicago style house, trance and chillstep mostly.

top 2 today i woke up too

Remix of a favorite of mine, 12 wives in tehran by serge devant ill post the original below the remix. both are equally good. depends what you like. I like the original more still. Very ambient song and vocals by nadia ali are only appropriate for the title since she is paki and it has that middle eastern, arab, persian vibe around it. And yes I know it sounds hypocritical since tehran and the language in iran is Farsi. But its that vibe I get.

chillstep song of the day done by the youngest producer i know putting out fire tracks. I believe he's 17, goes by the name xxyyxx. very appropriate title i believe for his song dmt. =p.

Good song, although more Trappy than chllstep.

Likin' this tune, moderately excited for the Flux EP, although so many good releases this month (Teknian, Meta, Koven, KillSonik).

Best Drumstep track of the year, Tidal Wave is damn close though. The other tracks on the EP are nice too.

i dont know... i liked the original version better. VIP versions are just more aggressive, clubyer versions to my ears... atleast most of the time...

never could be bothered with blu mar ten... same as deadmau5, i prefer other peoples remixes than the original.

listening to "signals" by soular order seems to put me in such an awesome mood, he's already released 2 free eps, i like this trend =]

I have some nice mixes with that Anubis remix, very versatile track. It's easily the best remix on that album (imo)

Hahaha classic! Honestly a jump up party isn't complete until a DJ drops this one, and does it well.

Speaking of classics, this one was dropped 3 times by 3 separate DJs at the local jam I was at lastnight. Junglist Movement Boxingday Special <3

I can't beleive I didn't have many of these but I just bought Drum and Bass Arena Anthology 2. TONS of essential classics over the last 20 years.

Have any one of you guys listened to works by GRiZ and Pretty Lights ?
Some people I know raved about them but I didn't get a chance to listen to their work.

Pretty Lights is kind of in a league of his own (same way Deathspell Omega is in black metal circles). There's not much discussion about the music since it's just pure good (or evil in DSO's case)

Pretty Lights is okay but his production quality could use a little work.

And I love the fact we get almost everything from him free, but when it's free in 160kbps MP3 it still kind of sounds like crap.
