My headset broke again and now I'm thinking of going the headphones+separate microphone way.

The headphones would be used mostly for PC usage (gaming, films and music, hopefully paired with a decent sound card, but this one has yet to come....), and this means that I have not so many requirements on the sound quality side yet. Budget is around 50€.

What I am looking for though is a product that is easily fixable. I've lost countless headphones/earphones/headsets to cable issues and I'm tired of it: are there any products out there that are easy to rewire? Also, are there any "hardening" recommendations to improve stress resistance?
I'd also consider headphones with detachable cable, if they are more tough.

thanks in advance

Consider any of the cheap Superlux models. (with low resistance)
The AKG and Beyerdynamic clones should be very easy to fix/repair.
Some of them come with detachable cables or coiled cables which saves them from snag-damage.

Also because they're AKG and Beyer clones, they're tried and tested designs that have already stood the test of time.
