How does it sound? Volume wise. SQ wise.

I might just go for a 250ohm instead. I can drive it at home, but I don't want to be so limited on the go.

Thanks.

You should probably look in the portable amp board. Also, don't be fooled with the 250 and 600 ohm, they are both amp hungry. My little LDS labs cmoy can amp the 600ohm but they don't get very loud and the distortion can get pretty bad. It'll get you from point A to point B but overall it isn't anything I would use for long periods of time. Overall, sounds like crap

Bottom line it will sound awful. It just can't power 600 Ohm headphones, IMO.

EDIT: Take your Xone 53s on the go. I love those headphones so much.

Why not a 32ohm 880?  Or do you specifically want the pro variants for more bass.  Seems like you might like the 32ohm, because the E7 has its own bass boost if I recall.

That's the way I would go, honestly. The 32 Ohm Beyers are the only ones that have a chance to sound proper out of the E7, IMO.

It's just a convenience factor. I'm already set on one of the higher impedance variants, I just wouldn't mind knowing if there was even the slightest possibility of me using it on the go. So I guess not, 600 it is.

It will sound pathetic, tbh. I tried using the DT990 and DT770 600 ohm versions with the E7, and you could tell it was hurting for power. Once you plug them into the E9, you'll notice the difference between sound even at the same volume.
