Here are my notes from the MS keynote
-Live video marketplace coming to Canada and Europe by Christmas (good news)
-Disney is new content provider for video marketplace (means PoC in HD!)
-Gears on PC
-Lots of talk about sales #'s and $
-Some new arcade games like Sonic and Golden Axe
-talked about all EA sports games will be 60fps vs 30fps on PS3
-showed their RPG's (Mass Effect and Lost Odessy look amazing)
-still trying to wrangle the young and old to live with some trivia games and a friendlier remote
-No Halo 3 delay
-CoD 4 looks *freaking outstanding* -- 360 only multiplayer beta
-PGR 4 has bikes and dynamic weather, looks really good
-next Splinter Cell exclusive to 360
-GTA4 looks really good, said both trailers shown to the public already were captured off of 360 hardware, 2 extra episodes 360 exclusive
-Virtua Fighter 5 will be on live (big deal to fans)
-Showed teaser of Resident Evil 5 (will have full trailer later in month on live)
-Assassins Creed finally shown, looks really good
-showed a neat little live action Halo 3 teaser
-Halo 3 limited edition console...zero applause...embarrassing
-showed new Halo 3 gameplay montage to close the show, looked great
Notable absences?
No price drop announcement
No MGS 4 announcement
No suprises at all
Overall?
Every game they showed (except RE5) is coming out by Christmas. That is amazing.
But the show was average at best. Some good games shown, but I've seen them all before with a few exceptions. Relied too heavily on Halo 3. No one cares anymore, we played the multiplayer demo and will play the game in two months. E3 will be Nintendo's or Sony's to win easily.
