*Anyone noticed the DX90 has quite a bit shorter battery life than DX50 (with mid gain)? Maybe I should get a real S**msung battery for it.

 
Going from memory, on its website IBasso rates the DX50 good for about 14 hours of battery life, and the DX90 for about 8… so, I'd say that it's perfectly normal, and nothing that a different battery of the same amperage can solve - it's just that the 2 DAPs have different consumption patterns, I'd think easily explained by the different internal components. 
 
Somebody reported that the 3250 mAh Kinps battery lasts longer - I have it, and it does, but my impression (I did NOT do any scientific experiments) is that it is not a day and night difference (NOT 50% longer)… What I personally do is, I actually have several batteries, and I just switch out if one does not last enough 

, while charging the spent one on an external charger.

On the DX50 I got 8-10 hours on the stock battery and on the DX90 I get 5-6 hours on the stock battery. Both line out. I play one whole album at a time so absolutely minimum screen navigation and both backlight and auto power down are set to minimum values

Has no one noticed the line out is quieter than the HO,i stopped using it completely,basically it is pointless even having it there since its controlled by the volume keys.
Theres no sound upgrade to my ears

The LO is line out and you are not supposed to plug your headphones in. It is meant for you to connect the DX90 to an amp.

Still not clear. Are you using the HO to connect DX90 to an external amp? Are you saying LO is pointless because it's controlled by the volume buttons.

Yes,i am saying headphone out is better for amp use

I do. It is pretty obvious if you use good IEMs such as the SE846 in your DP.

What phone amp are you using that makes LO too quiet for you? I assume you crank up the volume on DX90 at 255 when you use the LO?

Using the O2, even with orthos max volume is far too loud.

I never said it is quiet,but its quieter than the LO when at max vol.
Thats just a fact.
I use 71A,pure ii,shadow,pha2 etc..no point in a pure LO in this case imo
